DMARC Extension

DMARC EXTENSION

According to Wikipedia, the definition of a Demarcation Extension is the transmission path originating from the interface of the access provider’s side of a telecommunications circuit Demarcation Point within a premise and ending at the termination point prior to the interface of the edge of the Customer Premises Equipment.

During a cabling infrastructure installation, the Demarcation Extensions are consistently overlooked by the client. The main reason for this is due to confusion of the responsibilities of the client, Local Phone Carrier or the Cable TV and Internet Service Provider. At high cost, many times the Internet Service Provider or Local Phone Carrier provides this service internally or by using a subcontractor for the installation of this service. Other times the client is responsible for the management, the cost, and the Time of Delivery for this service. This can lead to a delay in delivery and can ultimately affect the operations of the client’s business.

In addition, because of the surge in bandwidth requirements for Internet and IT Services, from either the Local Phone Carriers or Cable TV Service providers, there has been an excess in requests from clients to these providers for Demarcation extensions. It is for these reasons, and because of the surplus of requests, BTC now offers competitive pricing for Demarcation extensions to the Client or Client’s Service Provider, from the Building Entrance Facilities or the building Main Point of Presence (MPOE) to client tenant space for the connectivity to the outside world.
